Mary Shatney started waitressing at the Polka Dot Restaurant in White River Junction, Vt. in 1959 and purchased the business in the early 1980’s. Shatney, 78, is now selling the building which sits on railroad corridor land owned by the Canadian National Railway. (Valley News – James M. Patterson)
