Robert Therrien, of Quechee, owner of The Carriage Shed in White River Junction, recently was presented with the U.S. Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award for the support Therrien had given to Ben Miller, of Lebanon, now a former employee, who serves as a specialist with the 131st Engineer Company of the Vermont Army National Guard. David Wheel, representing Vermont Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, presented the award.

Deirdre B. Goodrich, of Norwich, has been promoted from manager to principal at Nathan Wechsler & Co. Goodrich, a certified public accountant who has been with the accounting and tax firm since 2013, will oversee operations at its Upper Valley office in Lebanon. Goodrich earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Wellesley College and her master’s degree in accounting from Northeastern University. She serves as a board member and audit committee chair for Mascoma Savings Bank and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Susan Hastings, of Norwich, was a presenter at the 2015 National Guild of Hypnotists Convention, held earlier this month in Marlborough, Mass. Her topic was “Find the Balance to Bring More Happiness and Joy in Your Life: Learn How to Manifest What You Don’t Yet Have.” More than 1,000 people attended the 65-year-old nonprofit organization’s international educational conference and convention, Hastings, a hypnotherapist, said in a news release.

Michael Ehlenfeldt, of Charlestown, has been hired as executive chef of The Inn at Weathersfield. Ehlenfeldt came to The Inn from Solo Farm & Table in South Londonderry, N.H., and has spent most of his more than 25-year culinary career in Boston, including 14 years as the executive sous chef at Hamersley Bistro. Ehlenfeldt will develop and execute The Inn’s menus for the restaurant, wedding and special events, and will be one of the key instructors in The Hidden Kitchen, the Inn’s non-professional cooking classroom.

Forrest Powers, of Unity, an ASE certified master technician at Newport Chevrolet, has earned a silver medal in the recent SkillsUSA national competition. Powers, a recent graduate of Lakes Region Community College, where he was class valedictorian, also has earned a Class Leadership award from the Automotive Service Educational Program, was a gold medal winner at the state of New Hampshire skills competition, received the George Dykstra scholarship from the New Hampshire Automotive Education Foundation and the New Hampshire Auto Dealers scholarship and is a member of the National Tech Honor Society.

Bob Sherman, of Lebanon, recently won two statewide awards at the Vermont Association of Broadcasters convention. He took first place for best radio commercial with a 30-second spot for Wilson Tire in Lebanon and placed third for best spec commercial for Papa Z’s Convenience Store in Canaan. Sherman has won numerous awards as senior account executive with Great Eastern Radio in Lebanon and has been in broadcasting since 1978.

Tyler, Simms & St. Sauveur, CPAs, P.C., an accounting and professional services firm in Lebanon, has announced the following promotions and new hires:

Joshua J. Gagne, of Sutton, N.H., has been promoted to partner. A certified public accountant, he graduated from Plymouth State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Gagne has been with Tyler, Simms & St. Sauveur since 2004.

Lisa M. Gnatek, of Claremont, has been promoted to manager. A certified public accountant, she received her master’s degree in taxation from Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I., and her bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in finance from Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester. She has been with the firm since 2013.

Amber T. McGonis, of Enfield, has been promoted to manager. She interned with the firm in 2007. After graduating from Bryant University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2008, she joined the firm full time. McGonis is a certified public accountant.

Kyle M. Potter, of West Lebanon, has been promoted to supervisor. Potter, a certified public accountant, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and bachelor’s degree in history from Saint Michael’s College. He has been with the firm since 2011.

Sarah L. Monette, of Springfield, N.H., has been promoted to Senior I. A certified public accountant, she graduated from Siena College with a master’s degree in accounting and has been with the firm since 2013.

Michael J. Buttimer, of Lebanon, has been promoted to Senior I. Buttimer graduated from Saint Michael’s College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration. He has been with the firm since 2012.

Kaitlin E. Leonard, of Wilder, has been promoted to Senior I. Leonard received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Champlain College and has been with the firm since 2012.

Allison M. Jangel, of Enfield, has been promoted to Staff II. She has a bachelor’s degrees in accounting and music from Plymouth State University and has been with the firm since 2013.

Samantha A. Pheffer, of New London, has been promoted to Staff II. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a dual focus in accounting and management and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of New Hampshire. She has been with the firm since 2014.

John P. Rancourt, of Lebanon, has been promoted to Staff II. He received a degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire and has been with the firm since 2013.

Raelene LaPlante, of Claremont, has joined the firm as a defined contribution plan administrator. Prior to joining Tyler, Simms & St. Sauveur, she was an accounting technician and chief compliance analyst at the River Valley Community College. LaPlante earned a bachelor’s degree from Simmons College, a law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a master of laws degree in employee benefits from The John Marshall Law School. She is pursuing an advanced accounting certificate at River Valley Community College.

Kristen Ternullo, of West Lebanon, has joined the firm as a Staff I. She received a degree in accounting from Plymouth State University.
