The annual Career Day co-sponsored by Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and N.H. Health Careers Council in Concord, N.H., opened the doors to some 20 junior and senior students from area high schools on Oct. 17, 1968, for an inside look at the world of medicine. The program, designed to recruit future talent to meet the growing demand in the medical profession, conducted a day-long series of lectures and tours. Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital dedicated its new intensive care unit in Hanover, N.H., with ceremonies held on April 20, 1968. When parents in the Upper Valley go in search of a babysitter, their best bet will probably be with a girl who is a certified graduate of a two-week baby care clinic. A baby care program co-sponsored by the Grafton County Cooperative Extension Service and the American Red Cross was held in conjunction with second-year pediatric student nurses at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial School of Nursing to present the course with emphasis on safety, emergencies and first aid treatment. With little interruption of scheduling, Bond Research has been making a move from Grafton, N.H., to new facilites at Industrial Park No. 1 in Lebanon, N.H., on Feb. 12, 1968. With office equipment and specialized machinery still in transit, optical technician James Decato works uninterrupted.
